Thanks to everyone who attended any of the fundraisers. Even though the events are completed, the fundraising has not. If you'd like to contribute please go to the "Support" page.

Another one goes down in the books

My parent's hosted a BBQ and Moving Sale at their place on Saturday. They thought it would be great way to contribute to my trip. My mom, dad, Christina, Michelle, Aunt Corrie and family friend, Jan put alot of effort into making the event come together. Thank you so much! We had a great day with lots of people coming through in the morning. We also had a BBQ and later in the day we had a bonfire with family friends. It was a great day!
At the beginning of the day it was agreed that my parents would keep the profits from the sale of the large items (such as the riding lawnmower, beds, snowblower, etc.) and the rest of the profits would go to my trip, which was $860. Awesome! I also received additional donations from friends and family on top of the sale. What a great day!

Here are some photos from throughout the day:

BBQ & MOVING SALE

Now, that I've got the OK from the doctors to go to Tanzania I am back to fundraising full force. You are invited to a BBQ & MOVING SALE on Saturday, August 11th beginning at 9 a.m. at my parent's place (map) .

There's tonnes of stuff for sale because my parent's are moving and a number of people cleaned out their homes and closets, too (including me).

This will also be a great time to talk to me in person about what I'll be doing in Tanzania. For some of you it may also be the last time you'll see me for a year so this would be a perfect time for a visit.

Another successful event!

The White Elephant Sale went very well on Sunday! Thank you to everyone who donated or came out to the sale. A special thanks to the Fox's who opened their home for the event. It pulled in a profit of $290! I'm now at 20% of my goal!

Here are some pictures from the event:

Again thank you so much!

Next Fundraising Event - March 25th

I'm also putting together another fundraiser. It will be a White Elephant Sale (ie. a luncheon and gently-used-items sale) to take place on Sunday, March 25th at 3 p.m. (Location: TBA). If you have anything to contribute please let me know and I'd be happy to take the items off your hands.

First fundraiser was a success!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Nadine and I on Saturday night!
For those of you who were unable to make it here's a quick run down of the night: We began the night with tea, punch, coffee and hors d'ouvres, followed by an appetizer of misulin salad with almonds, dried cranberries, mandrin oranges and poppy seed dressing. The main entree consisted of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, baby carrots, and red pepper with sundried tomato, mushroom and onion stuffed chicken and a sundried tomato cream sauce. Following the entree Nadine shared about Pamoja Ministries and her experience of the past year. The evening concluded with a dessert which consisted of a ginger-flavoured brandy snap basket filled with lemon curd and topped with fruit. And last but not least, a chocolate truffle from the Silver Spoon in uptown Waterloo.
We had about 34 people attend the event and I was able to raise a good chunk of my flight expense :) Thanks!
